Slipway Waterfront Restaurant, Saldanha
We have visited SlipWay Waterfront Restaurant in the main harbour of Saldanha many times and every time we visit, we love it. The restaurant is not all that visible from the road, but there are sign boards to guide you to this beautiful little venue, situated on the lagoon.

When our friend from France visited us for a couple of days, we decided to take him to this little gem for lunch. It was a lovely Sunday morning and we were seated at a table where we had a perfect view of the lagoon with the yachts on anchor. There were some sailboats sailing with the wind, entertaining us. It was a perfect scene for a couple of photographs. During previous visits, visiting yachts tied up to the private jetties to enjoy lunch at the restaurant.

What to Order?

Time for some Photo’s
We ordered Diemersdal Sauvignon Blanc to compliment our lunch. Deon ordered a Slipway Classic platter with mussel and bacon bites, snoek and calamari. André and I ordered the Laidback Surprise, which was grilled hake with a creamy tomato and basil sauce. For dessert we did not really need the menu, as we knew that their cheesecake was very special.

It was a perfect day – we enjoyed the sun after a couple of cold days, the scenery was breathtaking and the food delicious. The recipe for a successful restaurant, is consistency – and Slipway lives up to this rule. Well done to them! We will certainly be back again.
