Seelan Restaurant and Bar
Situated at the V & A Waterfront opposite the harbour, this is the perfect restaurant for a lazy Friday lunch.
One of our favourite restaurants, Quay Four, lost out today, as we decided to give Seelan a try. Elegantly decorated and with crisp white tablecloths and serviettes, friendly staff and an inviting menu, this restaurant is a must to visit.
As it was a quite chilly day in October, we appreciated the fact that the patio where we were seated was heated. The menu was interesting, with not only seafood to choose from, but a variety of dishes, including curries.
Today, however, we decided on pasta. My Bolognese came with some extra sauce which was a very good idea. Deon tried the Pasta Vongole with fresh clams and chilli. Paired with Allée Bleue, a crisp white wine, both dishes were excellent. While we were enjoying our lunch, the restaurant was gradually filling up with more hungry patrons. It seemed to be a very popular restaurant.
After many Fridays spent working, it was good to at last enjoy our wonderful Cape Town again. There were many tourists and Capetonians enjoying the open air concerts, shops and restaurants that the Waterfront offers.
