Luigi’s Restaurant, Paarl
Waking up on Friday to a glorious sunny day, we decided to take a slow drive to Paarl and enjoy the scenic view while the good weather lasted.
Luigi’s Mediterranean Inspired Restaurant was on our lunch menu. It was not long before we reached Paarl and started searching for the restaurant, situated on 311 Main Road. It took us a while to locate Luigi’s, as you have to enter from the shopping centre’s side.

Interior
We were a bit early, but received a hearty welcome from the staff. The interior is bistro like with a fireplace and a piano. We were the only guests for lunch. It was clear that they are more popular in the evenings.

Menu
The lunch menu was extensive with mostly Greek and Italian style dishes. Deon ordered Pan Fried East Coast Calamari Tubes, stuffed with prawn meat, mozarella and coriander served with pasta and a lemon garlic sauce. I tasted it and found it very good, there was even a bite of chilli in the dish. My moussaka was tasty, but the chef opted for a sprinkle of cinnamon in the dish while I prefer a touch of nutmeg.

Tiramisu
All was forgiven when I tasted the Tiramisu which was perfectly made. On our way back home, we took some photographs of the beautiful scenery surrounding us. We really do live in a beautiful area.
