Five Guys

Tyger Waterfront
Since discovering our local Tyger Waterfront, we cannot stay away. On Friday we were contemplating staying home, but then decided to go for a quick lunch at a restaurant we spotted at the Waterfront a while ago. It was a chilly day, but we preferred to sit outside where we had a view of the water. We were seated on the deck in a sunny spot by a friendly waitron.
The family run Five Guys restaurant originated in Washington, DC in 1986. Jerry and Janie Murrell gave their four sons a choice between going to college or starting a business. They opted for the business route and soon it was a very successful business offering franchise opportunities. Today there are more than 250 000 possible ways to order one of their burgers. Only fresh ground beef is used and Peanut oil is used for frying the potato chips.

View From The Deck
Deon and I both ordered a Swiss burger and chips, mine with chicken instead of beef. It was a very tasty meal. The restaurant seemed to be very popular as all the tables on the deck were quickly occupied with patrons enjoying burgers and beer.
