Dining Room
When Deon and I were waiting in the guest house to move into our house, we ordered food from this restaurant. They assisted with cutlery as well and their friendliness overwhelmed us. Deon’s favourite was Oxtail, and I loved their Green Chicken Curry.
Since we moved to Greyton, we have visited this restaurant often. You have the choice to sit either inside or outside. On a warm summer’s day, we love to sit outside in the beautiful garden and enjoy fresh Fish and Chips. Dogs are welcome and we heard that a horse once visited for a nibble.

Outside Area
The owners, André and Anita Ferreira, have been in the restaurant business for over 20 years. They are always present, which make it easy to understand why this restaurant is so excellent. It is decorated in the French style with a beautiful spiral staircase which leads up to the owners’ living area.

Beautiful Spiral Staircase
On cold winter days, a warm fire welcomes you in the dining area. They offer a range of South African dishes, including Curry, Oxtail, Line Fish (when available), Burgers and Steak.

Chicken Burger
We were lucky to see the traditional Abbey at the back of the restaurant which is used for intimate wedding ceremonies. It is breathtakingly beautiful, with a huge rose window. A staircase leads up to a romantic bedroom and bathroom.

Abbey Front View
Considering the excellent food, friendly owners and staff as well as the beautiful setting, it is no wonder that Abbey Rose has been voted number one for seven years in a row on TripAdvisor.
