España Restaurant
On Friday 5 June 2015, we had to go to Stellenbosch. As we were expecting guests later that afternoon, we decided to go for a quick lunch. We did not plan on having lunch, therefore we did not have our cameras with us, so our only option was a cell phone camera. While driving on the R44, Deon spotted a restaurant just off the road, called España.
It was obviously a Spanish restaurant and very popular, as there were many guests. It is a beautiful space, with high ceilings and the walls beautifully decorated with paint techniques and art work – we even noticed a Hannetjie de Clercq on a wall.
The menu looked promising and offered tapas; which is a favourite with us; espetada; pizza; steak, etc. As we were in a hurry, we decided to only order a cheese platter and a glass of wine.
We will visit Espana again soon to see if the tapas are in the same league as the tapas we had so enjoyed many years ago in Barcelona.
