Last Sunday morning we drove out to Kalk Bay for a leisurely stroll through the town. When it was lunch time, we decided on Cape to Cuba restaurant.
We were very impressed with the interior, as it really looks a bit rustic on the outside. Inside there are a collection of chandeliers; vases; pictures and objects that takes you straight to Cuba. You can have lunch on the patio and watch the fishing boats or sit inside and admire the interesting décor. The waitrons are dressed in colourful outfits and provide good service. Classic cocktails such as mojito’s and daiquiris are served; as well as authentic Cuban dishes. If you like chilies, you know where to go. Deon ordered Baby Calamari and fried rice and André and I ordered fish and chips. Both dishes were excellent.
It was a perfect Sunday morning – a beautiful Bay’ perfect weather and an interesting new restaurant, what more do you need? After that, we drove along the coast, saw a whale or two at St. James and finally we spent the rest of the day at Kirstenbosch with our friend André.
