On Friday we decided to have lunch locally, so we chose Bakesh Food & Wine in the centre of Durbanville. The name Bakesh means seeking peace in Hebrew. Situated in a heritage building, the restaurant is charmingly decorated in an old world style.
The food is a mix of the traditional and contemporary and it is served with hand selected wines. Deon ordered a lamb knuckle curry dish, served with a poppadum and condiments. I opted for the chicken roulade, which was tender and tasty. Both meals were served with pumpkin and spinach. The rest of the menu looks promising, especially the chicken and prawn curry.
The service and meals were good, all and all an average experience.
